Careers at Real Apex

We are always interested in subject teachers who can explain difficult things clearly and who follow up on the students who are struggling.

Open roles

Current vacancies

No vacancies are advertised at the moment

Roles are usually advertised toward the end of a term. We keep speculative applications on file for the current session and contact people directly when something opens up, so it is worth writing to us even when this page is empty.

How to apply

Four steps, start to finish

01

Send your application

Email your CV and a short covering letter to academyapex28@gmail.com, stating the subject or role you are applying for.

02

Screening and interview

Shortlisted candidates are invited to the college for an interview with the principal and the relevant department head.

03

Demonstration lesson

Teaching candidates take a demonstration lesson with a real class, followed by a short discussion of how it went.

04

References and offer

We take up two references, including your most recent employer, before any offer is confirmed in writing.

What to send

Before you write to us

A short covering letter is more useful to us than a long CV. Tell us which subject and which levels you can teach, where you have taught before, and what your students' results looked like. If you have prepared candidates for WAEC, NECO or JAMB, say so: that experience matters a great deal at the tutorial centre.

We also recruit for non-teaching roles including bursary, administration, ICT support and boarding house staff. The same address reaches all of them.

Include in your application

  • · Curriculum vitae (PDF)
  • · Covering letter naming the role
  • · Copies of academic and teaching qualifications
  • · Two referees, one of them your current or most recent employer
